I have been involved with sport throughout my life; first as an international swimmer then a high-level squash player. When my competitive days in both sports ended, I coached swimming to national level, and taught and coached squash.
I was introduced to pickleball in 2018, then became an IPTPA Level 1 instructor in 2020, and successfully completed Level 2 IPTPA certification in 2022.
Recognizing that anyone can play pickleball, I’ve taught people of all ages and abilities, but one of the most rewarding experiences, to date, has been teaching a group of Special Olympic athletes.
I am available for private lessons at various venues; introducing pickleball to beginners and coaching intermediate level for individuals, small groups, as well as corporate ‘fun’ sessions.
Teaching and coaching pickleball has become a passion for me, and I look forward to meeting you on court.
The majority of my coaching is now at MNP Centre, 2225 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2G 5B6

“I recently participated in a Pickleball Clinic booked through the Calgary Pickleball Club led by Peter Llwellyn. I have been playing the game for approximately 4 years beginning with novice lessons. Since that time I’ve participated in a number of coaching sessions. These sessions were run by certified coaches and a former Canadian Champion. Unfortunately the program instructors were great players but they were not “teachers”. In contrast this experience has delivered the best coaching I’ve experienced. Fully focused on each element of the game;, explained, demonstrated and followed up by personal drills and constructive criticism. Each session has just the right number of components. I highly recommend Peter and his group of coaches and hope to participate in their future clinics.”
