Lessons v clinics?

LESSONS

Question:         What should I expect when I take a lesson?

Answer:            In a lesson there may not be a fixed agenda for the instruction, unless previously discussed (e.g. in a previous lesson). The instructor can quickly assess what is required – e.g. technique adjustment, – or you may come to the lesson with a particular request for a new skill, etc.

Examples:

1 on 1 lesson. You and your instructor. Lesson is completely focused on you and your needs.

1 on 2 lesson. You and one other player will work with instructor to address both your needs/team work.

1 on 4 lesson. You and 3 others will work with instructor to address all players’ needs/team work.

CLINICS

Question:          What should I expect when I enroll in a clinic?

Answer:            Clinics usually have a fixed agenda and format for what will be covered: e.g. moving through the transition zone to the no volley zone.

While an instructor will correct any obvious issues with a player’s technique, footwork, etc. the instructor’s focus is on delivering the skills and techniques to all the clinic participants.
