Bill Lane
Level 2 IPTPA coach PC level 1 referee

Private, semi-private and group lessons
I started playing Pickleball in 2018 just after I received a paddle for Christmas and discovered that I loved this wonderful game. Soon after, I was invited into the IPTPA coaching group and did my level 1 Certification which allowed me to work with some of the senior coaches in Calgary to fine tune my skills.
To date I have lead over 75 Intro Clinics where I take new players and teach them the game of Pickleball over the course of a 4-6 hr lesson… then they get to play in Beginner sessions with other new players… After they have a chance to practice , I can then offer Novice and Intermediate sessions to work on all the drills to improve their game.
It is so rewarding to see players I’ve taught go on to higher levels where skill is the requirement.
I was able to complete my IPTPA Level 2 certification last year and am now one of the senior coaches in Calgary….and have gone on to teach many group and private lessons at Parkland Community, The Glencoe Club, Acadia Rec Centre, Woodcreek Community, Hawkwood Community, Seven Chiefs Pickleball, and Oakridge Community.
In Summer of 2023 I played in my first Provincial Sanctioned Pickleball tournament and won a Gold medal in men’s Doubles and was also able to referee 30 games .
My teaching philosophy is quite simple… you need to learn…
How to hit the Ball
Where to hit the Ball
Why hit the ball there
I love this sport and am very proud to be a part of sharing it with new and seasoned players.
